Use the doc sharing modal

Use the doc sharing modal

January 2024

This page walks through how to use the sharing modal in the document viewer. For more information on how to get here, see this article on the document viewer.

step 1: click File and then Share in the top left
Step 2: Set Viewing Permissions

Selecting "can view" grants users read only access. Selecting the Comment or Edit option grants incremental permissions. For more information, see this article on setting user permissions. If you want to double check user permissions, see this article on the Manage Access table.

Note: You cannot decrement viewing permissions via the sharing modal. You can only increase a user's permissions via this modal.
Step 2: Select which documents to include as email attachments

Note that this modal will always generate an email to recipients with a link to view the document on Flippr.ai. This section gives you the option to include PDF attachments to that email as well. The link, however, will only work for authenticated users. The link alone does not grant anyone access.

Step 3 (optional): add an additional message

This will add a custom message to the email. See step 4 to see an example of how this email will look.

Step 4: choose recipients and click share
Note: this will send one email that CC's yourself and includes all recipients from this section in the "to" line of that email. If you add a team, each team member will be added to the email individually.

The email will come from support@flippr.ai, with the subject: [Your Name]: New Flippr Doc. With some variation depending on the document you're sharing and your chosen PDF attachments, the email will look like the below:
